What were you like at school?
I was a combination of the class clown and the uber nerd. I loved writing and creative activities from a very young age but was also an eager learner of all subjects.
What was your favourite subject in school?
If you could have been the original author of any book, what would it have been and why?
The Great Gatsby because that book changed the way I felt about reading and made me understanding how much control an author has over the imagination of the reader.
What are your ambitions for your writing career?
I made a promise to myself that I would publish one book and that has turned into six so far. I would like to continue writing and have one or more of my works reach #1 on Amazon and become a USA Today Bestselling Author. I have hard time doing things without wanting to be the best at it.
Which writers inspire you?
Stephen King, Zora Neale Hurston, Alexis Riley, Sharon Hamilton, April Wilson and so many more.
What have you written?
I have written 3 books for the Davis Entertainment Series and my 3rd book for the Angel Security Series is releasing on September 7th! I was also a part of the Alpha Males in Uniforms Anthology which featured Angel Security Book two!
What book/s are you reading at present?
Right now I don’t have anything I am reading but my TBR is bursting!
What are your thoughts on good/bad reviews?
I think all reviews are helpful as long as that is what the reviewer intends.
What made you decide to sit down and actually start something?
I needed to create something and this couple kept popping in my head every time I heard the song, “This is What She Came For” by Rhianna. I started writing and I didn’t stop until it was done!
Do you write on a typewriter, computer, dictate or longhand?
Computer. I can type a lot faster than I write and it’s legible at the end of the process 🙂
How do you think you’ve evolved creatively?
I think each book I write I learn more about what I like to write and how to do it better. I can see the character development and back stories more clearly and I give more depth than I did in my first book. The good news is everyone has a continuation coming so I’ll get a chance to explore them more and use what I’ve learned to help tell their story.
How long on average does it take you to write a book?
It depends how focused I am on it. I still have a full-time job so sometimes I will go a week or more without writing but I’m always plotting and thinking of what’s next. Once I have the outline done and I can see the characters clearly it takes 1-2 weeks.
Do you ever get writer’s Block?
yes but I try to work through it by stepping away, sleeping, relaxing and it usually goes away.
What is your favourite positive saying?
